 TechElan offers a large selection of standard and custom assembled non-contact Liquid Dispensers and/or Aspirators/Dispensers (TEDA Series), capable of handling volumes from 25 nano-liters and up with high precision and repeatability.

  These Aspirators/Dispensers have practically no reagent losses and minimal dead volumes.

   

    The TEDA series Aspirators/Dispensers are using proprietary high speed Precision Valves in combination with adjustable Vacuum and Pressure to reliably transfer (dispense) volumes down to 20 nano-liters.

    The TEDA series includes a broad range of Aspirating/Dispensing Devices with different layouts, performance parameters and options.

     An easy evaluation of TEDA dispensing performance can start with a Single Channel Kit, which has all necessary components for manual testing of Dispensation and/or Aspiration.

     A number of pre-designed and pre-fabricated modules developed for the TEDA line, support multiple options and can be custom assembled to closely match customer specifications:

 

GENERAL OPTIONS:

EXAMPLES of CUSTOMIZED DISPENSERS ASSEMBLED FROM "STANDARD" MODULES

   TEDA-100 (COMBINED) Aspirator/Dispenser modules are developed for the stand alone operation or as a part of a larger instrument or installation.

    TEDA-100 units can be equipped with a selectable number of individually controlled aspirating/dispensing channels for a non-contact dispensation down to 20 nano-liters with less than 5% CVs (Coefficient of Variation).

   Individual electronic valve drivers enable an independent dispensation control of up to 8 channels, which support dispensation of different volumes and individual adjustments

   If the Aspiration function is supported, these units will be equipped with automatically descending and retracting Aspirating needles and individual reservoirs.

   TEDA-100 Aspirators/Dispensers are using high speed, high precision miniature dispensing SMLD type valves and can be supplied with high accuracy liquid pressure controllers for the best adjustment and repeatability of all dispensation parameters (volume, speed, stream and/or droplet shape).

   TEDA-200 (UNIVERSAL) Dispensers are designed for both single-channel (manual) and/or multi-channel automated operation with 9 mm center to Center spacing. This unique capability is extremely helpful for transition from Assay development to an automated process.

   As Dispensers TEDA-200 devices are capable of dispensing volumes starting with 20 nano-liters with less than 5% CVs (Coefficient of Variation). If equipped as Aspirators/Dispensers, the starting volume is usually around 50 nano-liters.

  A specially developed side-tapered trapezoidal body allows TEDA-200 to be used as an individual "hand held Pipetter", or to become a part of a multi-channel dispensation module with standard 9 MM center to center spacing. These dispensers have a number of selectable options assembled per order from prefabricated modular components to closely match customer requirements.  All TEDA-200 Aspirators/Dispensers are using high speed/high precision miniature SMLD type dispensing valves and high accuracy liquid pressure controllers for the best adjustment, accuracy and repeatability of all dispensation parameters (volume, speed, stream and/or droplet shape).

   TEDA-220 is a stand alone hand held Aspirator/Dispenser unit with a special, ergonomically designed handle and a replaceable mini reservoir located on the handle. The model shown employs a high precision miniature SMLD100 type valve, which has the same dispensing parameters as SMLD-300 valve although has a one piece construction. Aspiration and dispensation is done through the valve. Alternatively a new reagent can be used by simply replacing the screw-on mini reservoir. This dispenser is well suited for assay developments or low to medium throughput experimentation. it is equipped with a unique adjustable handle, which can be set to exactly match operator's hand. An external controller supports all necessary electronic, pneumatic and pneumatic control functions.

   TEDA-250 (MAGNETIC FIELD ACTUATION). This is an experimental dispenser based on a novel technology , which employs a soft capillary tubing collapsing under electromagnetic field. It offers a unique "flow through", "valveless" non-clogging disposable dispensation channel, providing a reliable low cost (limited accuracy) dispensation.

   TEDA-300.  Another experimental dispenser, which was successfully prototyped represents an array (e.g. 96, 384) of calibrated micro-channels, which lead into corresponding cavities. An array of cavities is located in a large hermetic chamber, which contains a reagent saturated hydrophilic sponge covering the entire array. A special membrane is pneumatically actuated compressing the sponge into individual arrays and, therefore, discharging the liquid in equal amounts, through calibrated orifices at the bottom of each cavity. The pneumatic pressure applied to the membrane and sponge is equally distributed across the array providing a coordinated dispensation of a predetermined volume.
